Ornament 2015 - Bruised and exhausted, but a great event

It was a flurry of plinth shifting, rope knotting and label printing to name just a few of the tasks. But when the show was up, oh my. What a great selection of artists for Ornament 2015 at The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

The idea was to show artists who are either represented in our fabulous North West Collections of Craft. Or to show artists who our region's curators have their eye on.

The artists:

Rebecca Gouldson, nominated by the Bluecoat Display Centre
Angela Jarman, nominated by Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston
Jin Eui Kim, nominated by Manchester City Galleries
Jane Mckeating, nominated by Manchester Metropolitan University Special Collections
Lina Peterson, nominated by Ruthin Art Centre, Denbighshire
Paul Scott, nominated by The Atkinson, Southport
Rita Parniczky, nominated by The Whitworth Art Gallery

Check out their work on the GNCCF website

Here are a few images of Ornament 2015 - the inside story.  I had a fantastic team of assitant curators - Laura Biggadike, Joyce Dixon, Rachel Britch and Frances Rocca - who between them helped me to set up, supervise and pack away. You can see them smiling away amid the chaos.
