The Biggest Cardigan at Barnaby Festival Macclesfield
Loved the Barnaby Festival in Macclesfield this weekend - and it's not over. We ambled amiably through town (though too late in bed to see the parade), enjoying all sorts of stuff. Favourites: poet Jo Bell and comedian Boothby Graffoe in the Cabaret, The Big Cardigan (see video), the fete, art by Ian Jarman and Ralph McGaul. I felt quite emotional to find good art happening here in my place. Sometimes it can seem like a cultural desert, but this time Macclesfield had come up trumps. We met people we knew here and there, and started to feel like we were actually part of a community. More of this please!
